Information we collect
You are not required to provide information directly to us in order to view the Site. However, we collect information you voluntarily provide to us. For example, when you sign up to use one of Textcast’s paid plans, you will be asked to provide your email address and a credit card number. There is no need to register and open an account with us via the Site.
Like most web sites, we also store information
that your web browser sends to our web servers, like your IP address and
general information about your web browser software and device or computer.
We may also access information about you from third-party sources and platforms (such as social networking sites, online marketing firms, and ad targeting firms), including:
- if you access third-party social networking services (such as Facebook Connect) through the Site, your username and connection lists for those services;
- demographic data, such as age range, gender, and interests;
- advertisement interaction and viewing data, such as ad click-through rates and information about how many times you viewed a particular ad; and
- unique identifiers, including mobile device identification numbers, that can identify the physical location of such devices in accordance with applicable law.
Use of our Site and Textcast is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect PII from them. If we learn that we have collected any PII from a child under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent—in the case of minors under the age of 13— and verifiable consent from a user under the age of 16, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as possible.
If you believe that we may have collected PII from a child under 16, please contact us at email@example.com.
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site or Textcast.
We use a third-party payment processor for payments to us. We do not have access to any PII you provide to our payment processor.
If you choose to engage in public activities on the Site or Textcast, such as by posting comments on community message boards, any information you submit can be read, collected, or used by others. Please exercise caution when deciding to disclose any PII in public activities or submissions.
We may also share aggregated information or anonymous information that does not directly identify you.
We may send you email and text messages to facilitate your use of Textcast. We may also send you emails highlighting features or promotions or offers that may be of interest to you. You can unsubscribe from these emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in our email footer or by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Be advised, however, that you cannot unsubscribe to emails regarding your use of the Textcast, payment or similar issues. We do not sell, lease, rent or otherwise disclose PII we collect to third parties for their marketing purposes.
The security of your PII is very important to us. As required under California law, we have implemented reasonable technical, physical, and administrative procedures to help protect information about you from loss, misuse, and alteration. For example, your communications with Textcast servers are encrypted using industry standard HTTPS, the same protocol used by almost all e-commerce web sites. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. We want you to feel confident using the Site and Textcast, but we cannot guarantee that the Site or Textcast is invulnerable to hacking or other online attack.
